Oyo | House of representatives
Hon. Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun is a Nigerian politician, estate professional and member of the House of Representatives representing the Saki East/Saki West/Atisbo Federal Constituency of Oyo State. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is serving in the 10th National Assembly. His political career spans several years of legislative and grassroots political activity in Oyo State.
Abisodun was born on 1 August 1966 in Saki, Oyo State. He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Estate Management from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, as well as a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree. Before entering elective politics, he worked as an estate valuer and was also associated with the Federal Housing Authority, giving him professional experience in estate management and public-sector administration.
His political career at the federal level dates back to the 2007–2011 period, when he served in the House of Representatives under the platform of the Action Congress. He subsequently returned to the National Assembly for another term between 2011 and 2015, this time under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His earlier legislative experience established him as a returning figure in Oyo State's federal politics.
After leaving the National Assembly in 2015, Abisodun remained active in political and community affairs. He later returned to the House of Representatives in the 2023 general election, winning the Saki East/Saki West/Atisbo seat on the APC platform. His return marked the beginning of his third overall term in the House, although his terms were not consecutive. He is consequently one of the more experienced members of the Oyo State delegation in the current National Assembly.
In the 10th National Assembly, Abisodun has held a leadership role as Chairman of the House Committee on Aviation. In that capacity, his legislative responsibilities include matters concerning Nigeria's aviation sector and parliamentary oversight of relevant government agencies and policies. His legislative interests have also included air transport, agricultural development and sustainable transportation.
His constituency activities have included interventions aimed at supporting communities within Saki East, Saki West and Atisbo. Public records associated with his legislative service cite constituency projects including an ICT centre valued at about ₦300 million and solar street-lighting projects, as well as efforts to facilitate federal appointments and opportunities for constituents. These activities form part of his broader constituency representation alongside his legislative responsibilities at the National Assembly.
Abisodun is also known by the traditional title Asiwaju Adinni of Saki Land, reflecting his connection with the Saki community. His public profile combines his professional background in estate management with political and legislative service. He has also identified the late former Oyo State Governor Christopher Alao-Akala as his political mentor.
Ahead of the 2027 general election, Abisodun secured the APC nomination to contest again for the Saki East/Saki West/Atisbo Federal Constituency. The Oyo State APC unveiled its House of Representatives candidates in September 2026, with Tajudeen Kareem among those presented. Earlier reports on the party's May 2026 primaries also identified him as one of three returning Oyo federal lawmakers seeking a fourth election to the House.
Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun's career therefore combines professional experience in estate management, grassroots politics and several periods of federal legislative service. Having served in the House during 2007–2011, 2011–2015 and from 2023 onward, he has accumulated substantial experience in Nigeria's federal legislature. As the APC candidate for Saki East/Saki West/Atisbo in 2027, he is seeking another term representing the constituency at the National Assembly.
