Adefiranye Festus Ayodele

Hon. Festus Ayodele Adefiranye is a Nigerian politician, engineer and businessman from Ondo State. He represents the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo/Odigbo Federal Constituency of Ondo State in the House of Representatives and is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He has served in the National Assembly since 2019, first representing Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo in the Ondo State House of Assembly before moving to the federal level in 2023. He is also the APC candidate for the constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election.

Adefiranye is from Okeigbo in Ondo State. He obtained his early education in Okeigbo before proceeding to the Federal School of Arts and Science, Ondo, where he completed his higher school studies. He later attended the University of Lagos, where he studied Applied Physics Electronics, and subsequently obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso. His academic and professional background combines science, telecommunications and business management.

Before entering elective politics, Adefiranye developed a career in the telecommunications industry. He worked as a transmission engineer with Multi-Link Telecommunications and later served as a project engineer with SEC Equipment and Communications. He subsequently worked with Alcatel Nigeria and joined Econet Wireless, which later became part of the Airtel Nigeria operations. He eventually became a Transmission Optimization Manager at Ericsson Nigeria before leaving the corporate sector to establish his own telecommunications business, Simidebis International Limited.

His involvement in public affairs also included serving on the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, between 2017 and 2019. He had earlier participated in political and community-development activities in Ondo State and was involved in initiatives focused on education, technology and the development of Okeigbo and surrounding communities.

Adefiranye entered elective politics in 2019 when he contested and won the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo State Constituency seat in the Ondo State House of Assembly on the APC platform. During his time in the state legislature, he served as Deputy Chief Whip and chaired important committees, including the Committee on Public Accounts and the Committee on Human Capital Development. His legislative experience at the state level prepared the ground for his subsequent move to the National Assembly.

In the 2023 general election, Adefiranye was elected to the House of Representatives to represent the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo/Odigbo Federal Constituency. In the 10th National Assembly, he initially chaired the House Committee on Human Capital Development and currently serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Christian Pilgrimage Affairs. He has also sponsored and supported legislative initiatives concerning infrastructure, education, electricity and public safety, including a bill seeking the establishment of a Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery in Okeigbo.

At the constituency level, Adefiranye has been associated with interventions in education, healthcare, roads, employment and youth and women empowerment. His legislative activities have included advocacy for the rehabilitation and dualisation of the Ore-Ondo-Akure Federal Road and the completion of the Okeigbo-Igbo Olodumare power project. In June 2026, he emerged as the APC candidate for the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo/Odigbo Federal Constituency for the 2027 election, making him the party's candidate for another term in the House of Representatives.
