Dr. Adebisi Obawale Simeon is a Nigerian politician, public administrator and community leader from Osun State. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has held several positions within the Osun State Government. He is currently the APC candidate for the Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election.
Adebisi Obawale has a professional background in public administration and cultural affairs. Before moving into elective politics at the federal level, he built experience through government appointments and responsibilities connected with culture, tourism and community development in Osun State. His public career has been particularly associated with the administration of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
During Aregbesola's administration, Obawale served as Commissioner for Home Affairs and later held responsibilities connected with the state's arts and cultural institutions. He was also identified as the Director-General of Osun State's art and culture establishment. His work in these positions involved government programmes relating to cultural preservation, tourism, arts development and the promotion of Osun's cultural heritage.
Obawale subsequently returned to the Osun State cabinet under Governor Gboyega Oyetola. In 2019, his name appeared among the nominees submitted to the Osun State House of Assembly for appointment as commissioners. He was subsequently appointed Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, giving him responsibility for a portfolio covering the development and promotion of tourism, cultural activities and the creative sector in the state.
His involvement in cultural and tourism administration gave him experience in managing government programmes and engaging with communities and institutions across Osun State. During his period in government, his responsibilities included matters concerning cultural heritage, tourism development and the promotion of Osun's artistic and historical assets. His public-service career therefore spans both administrative and political responsibilities at the state level.
Obawale later became more directly involved in federal electoral politics, seeking to represent the Boluwaduro, Ifedayo and Ila Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. In the APC's 2026 National Assembly primaries in Osun State, he emerged as the party's candidate for the constituency. The result was announced alongside the party's other House of Representatives candidates for the 2027 elections.
For the 2027 general election, Adebisi Obawale Simeon is listed as the APC's candidate for the Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency. His candidacy represents a move from his previous experience in Osun State government into a bid for federal legislative representation, with the constituency covering the three local government areas of Boluwaduro, Ifedayo and Ila.
